Judges' Comments
Steve Flamstead
Cherries, watermelon and fruit salad aromas on the nose with some Satsuma plum characters on the palate. Good crisp acidity. Well balanced. A slightly sweet finish.
John Ellis
Big. Some heat. The palate has heat even though the acidity is low. It’s a big softie and the flavour lingers. It has enough weight to match the food but not enough sweetness.
David Bicknell
Full bright purple reds. Ripe spicy berry fruit. Sweet berry and cream across the palate. High alcohol finish. Copes well with the flavours in the dish by virtue of its size.

Colour is deep. Spicy fruit with red fruit flavours. Lean on the finish. The food brings out the fruity acids in the wine.
Neil Hadley
A vibrant, young, full pink colour. The palate has a creamy softness and a spicy edge. It finishes a little bland. The blandness pervades the food match.
Ivan Donaldson
Raspberry-like fruit, fresh, vibrant and medium sweet. It became somewhat harder with the food. That is to say, the wine seemed firmer and not as delicious when it was tasted with the food.
