Judges' Comments

David Bicknell

Pale coppery red. Savoury red fruited aromas across the nose and palate with a dry finish. Delicious and savoury.

John Ellis

A bit dull on the nose with a slight orange colour. The palate is spicy, dry, clean and long. Good match. The lack of sugar allows the flavours to marry.

Neil Hadley

Very pale, almost orange in appearance. The nose is quite bland. The palate is fresh and dry with a light herbal finish. It doesn’t really change much with the pork.

John Chua

Soft red fruit texture with acid. Refreshing on the palate. The spiciness flavour of the peppercorn intensified the austerity of the wine.

Steve Flamstead

Lots of spice. Slightly medicinal. Roasted capsicums but a pretty wine overall. Quite high in alcohol. Good with the food. It accentuated the toffee apple characters. A bone dry wine with a bit too much alcohol.

Ivan Donaldson

Dry, clean, simple, lightly fruity with no faults.
