Judges' Comments

Steve Flamstead

Nice, pretty, plummy musk characters. A clean cut wine with some hints of gooseberry. Good balanced alcohol. A lovely balanced wine except the acid is slightly high. Lighter bodied but this wine leaves you wanting for more with food. It’s always a good sign with Rosé.

John Ellis

A smoky touch on the nose. Spice and fruit. The palate is clean with a soft middle, balanced although not forward. The wine balances with the food except for that touch of lingering sweetness.

David Bicknell

Very pale watery reds. Bubblegum confectionary notes. Delicate and elegant. Perhaps lacking some flavour. The delicacy and sweetness assist the wine in harmonising with the dish.

Neil Hadley

Pale youthful pink colour. The nose is fresh and estery with a light spicy edge. It’s crisp, clean and simple in the mouth. The simplicity seems to accentuate with the food.

John Chua

Crispy, fruity with a lean finish. The food brings out the tartness of the wine.

Ivan Donaldson

Light but with a touch of firmness which detracts. Lacks nose and flavour. Food emphasises that firmness or hardness in the finish.
